The
Matinjanin Family
Arif
Matinjanin, Sayda Matinjanin and their sister Rasema Matinjanin have returned
to Kolibe Gornje. They had lived and worked here before the war. The sisters
were workers, helping the other villagers in digging and harvesting. The
winters were calmer and poorer. Their brother was mainly at home, because he
is mentally retarded.
That’s
how they lived before the war. Then came the war and the three of them had to
leave their home to save their own lives. They became refugees all over
Bosnia. Hunger, cold and fear affected Sayda and Rasema.
The war
ended, and now they were able to return to their home town. So, they came
back to Kolibe Gornje. But now, they
had to start all over again, build their house and property. However, they
are not healthy anymore. Sayda and Rasema cannot work now because they became
ill during the war and they have no money.
Some
people who know these three Bosnians, stop by and help them sometimes. On the
kind request of "SADAKE", our brother Senad went to visit Arif,
Sayda and Rasema. During their conversation, he told them there is a
possibility that Bosnians from abroad could send some donations for them.
Maybe even to buy a few chickens so that the family can sell eggs and finance
themselves. At the end, the family accepted to allow Senad to take their
photograph, and conveyed their salams to all Bosnians who live abroad and who
might help them. May Allah reward these
